I've been diagnosed for a very long while with ADD inattentive. I have been on drugs, and still am. They work for me, but no - it won't be cured permanently. There's no such thing as a "cure" for ADD. And you might need to futz around with medications till you find one that works for you. As for finding a doctor, yeah. A psychiatrist would be a good place to start. You want to watch out though - lots of doctors receive funding for stuff from various medical companies so if they try to force some unpopular medication and are totally advocating it and no others you probably want a second opinion. I'm mentioning this because I had this happen with two previous psychiatrists. Hope that helps.
