My youngest son was diagnosed with AS when he was about eight years old. He was disruptive in class, and did something he called “sprinkles”, where he stiffened his upper torso, and put his hands in front of his face while moving his fingers in a jerky fashion. He is now 25 years old. He is a factory worker, and is leading a very successful life.
