Hello. I, too, am having the pain in the back of my head behind my ear but mine is on the left. The pain was at its worst the two days before BP actually set in. It was excruciating!! I kept telling my husband if it would just stop for 5 minutes... I just couldn't stand it. About 3 days after I started the Prednisone, I finally went 3-4 days with no pain. It was wonderful!! Then it started again. It's off and on and nothing like it was at the beginning but its enough to make me worry that the CN7 nerve is still having issues which makes me think this will never go away until I figure out what's affecting the nerve. I've noticed at night when I lay day to go to bed that as long as I lay on the bad side... the left side... that I have no pain. But as soon as I turn over and lay on my right side I can feel that pressure/pain in my head. Even laying flat on my back I can feel it. Unlike many people, I did not have a virus before this happened, I did not go to the dentist and I did not have any weird experience with cold. I honestly think either my mattress or the way I sleep or something physical is affecting the nerve so I have an appointment with a chiropractor today. I'll let you know what happens. Please write again and let me know if you've had improvement.

I am not sure what started my BP either. I used ibuprophen and heating pads for the pain. I also would go into the shower and let the warm water rain down on it. That helps too. It does get better. Hang in there.
