Bell palsy and physical therapy

Post a new topicby AIDAPY on Thu Apr 17, 2008 6:31 pm

Has anybody gone through physical therapy for retraining facial muscles? If so, how was the experience? I just had the bout two days ago and was not recommended to do it. However, my sister is a physician in another country and told me I should ask for physical therapy sessions immediately to prevent irreversible effects (better being proactive than waiting to have the problem and then probably having to require more sessions and at the end it will be more expensive. Any thoughts on that? Thanks

YES! Your sister is 100% right, that is what saved me from having lasting effects.

I'm sorry to be disagreeable, but I've had BP 7 times over a period of 15 years (1984-1999) and had physical therapy, electrical stimulation, over and over, and all that happened is that I have permanent residual effects. Most other forums are full of people saying the same. Do NOT zap your poor face!
