My brother in a comaHello my name is Diana and my brother Andy 31 yrs old is in a coma. He was visiting his wife in Mexico and had been there for about 1 week. Re: My brother in a comaHi Diana!
I can hardly imagine how you must feel! I'm so sorry you have to go through this! The mother of a friend of mine had something similar to a stroke a few months ago. She was put into an artificial coma to treat the damage and was then slowly woken up again, but unfortunately she's in some kind of a persistent vegetative state now for a few weeks and we really hope that she'll wake up entirely soon. I'll pray for your brother. All the best, David
Re: My brother in a comaDiana,
It's a good idea to have your brother close to your home. My son has been in a coma since April 20, 2007 and is improving everyday. He is rated with the Rancho scale as a IV. So, your brother is doing great. They tried the drug Ambien with my son and it seems to work in actually waking him up. Keep up with the the PT and OT and Speech therapy. It does wonders. See my sons web page. http://www.caringbridge.org/visit/anthonythompson Good luck, Sheila
