hemorragic stroke

Post a new topicby TINAR on Wed Apr 30, 2008 4:07 pm

Hi,
My mom is 68 and has had a lot of smaller strokes. She has two artificial valves which requires blood thinners. Last year she had an acute stroke in her right side that caused some motor skills damage and caused her left part of the brain to be very sensitive. A week a go she had a small stroke on the right side but recovered - they put her back on blood thinners - gave her too much which caused her brain to hemmorage in the left area where her brain blood vessels had weakened.

She is in a coma. She responds to voices by moving her mouth and blinking and is breathing on her own. However, she has not opened her eyes and has not had any cognitive actions. What can I do to bring her out of this unconscious state? They say that the longer she stays like this the worse she will become. However, there is no fluid pressure on her brain as they have already drained it.

What should I do?
Please advise,
TINAR
