Diagnosis

Diagnosis of encephalitis is based on the following:

Medical history (including recent exposure to insects, travel, personality changes, and contact with unusual animals or illnesses)
Neurological examination
Blood and urine tests
Imaging tests (e.g., CT scan, MRI scan, EEG)
