After years of pain from traumatic induced arthritis from service-connected injuries, I’ve had three cervical spine surgeries with hardware; a failed fusion at C6-7 necessitating a second fusion with replacement hardware; a laminectomy at C3-4 at the top of the first (3 level fusion); and chemonucleolysis to reduce a herniated disc at L5-S1. I appreciated reading about the extent of your experience treating your DDD with epidurals. I too have traumatic DDD and Fibromyalgia along with it. I had one epidural for lumbar a few months ago and now the doc wants to do double epidurals or triple-at the same time as I have c4-5-6-7, affected. I also have a diagnosis for stenosis. I don't know if having these epidurals will really benefit me or cause more pain as you mentioned. I am already in quite a bit of pain everyday from the FM and the DDD. I wish I could know whether I should go ahead with these epidurals or not. Do you think they are just a coating over or do you think everyone should try them at least three times as my doc suggests?
Thanks, B.
