hormonal seizures

Post a new topicby spankki365 on Fri Nov 23, 2007 3:31 pm

I am 42 years old and have been having seizures since the birth of my first child (I was 31 years old at the time). I never had a seizure when I was on birth control and since I've had my tubs tied (33 years old) I've been having seizures almost every month one week before I have my period. I did go to the doctor and he prescribed Dilantin for the seizures however I had terrible side effects from the meds. The doctor then changed my prescription to Phenytex - this also made me fat and tired all the time. I stopped taking the Phenytex and told my doctor I believe the seizures may be caused by hormonal imbalances...he of course told me he was the doctor and I was wrong. I was wondering if anyone can tell me if they have seizures they feel are hormonal related. I started going though the change of life a few years ago and am hoping that the seizures will stop when I no longer have a monthly period. Any response is greatly appeciated.
