Essential Tremor

My family has noticed an increase in my head shaking the past few months. I am 70 and have had some of this for a few years, always inquiring of my Dr. who calls it ET but says nothing can be done. I avoid caffeine in any form. My main lifestyle change is drinking only from a straw, never in direct contact with the glass. I do not seem to have the same difficulty with hot liquids in a cup.
