medications and more

Post a new topicby kris121 on Fri Jul 11, 2008 5:11 pm

Hello all,
Ive had et since i was little and have been struggling more and more with my everyday things. I once tried propanol or something but its side effects were too much to handle (dizziness, lack of concentration, headaches etc.). My tremor is mostly in my head and hands (it gets worse under pressure). I was wondering if anyone has any experience with effective meds with little or no side-effects or any methods that i can do myself (ive heard talk of strangthening little muscles in ur hands and stuff with little weights and also calming things like yoga)

Any information would help
Thanks guys

I used Inderal (propranolol, beta-blocker) for a number of years with NO side effects; but after 5 yr. is stopped helping. I then tried primidone (Mysoline, antiseizure med); side effect bad for 5 days and then OK. I started Inderal at age 35 and was rock steady for 5 years. I did primidone age 42 to 50 and it worked well, not rock steady but very, very mild tremors. I got my private pilot license and didn't want to jump through the FAA med. hoops, so I stopped taking any meds. My tremors remain mild until age 57 and at age 60 I'm looking at trying something again. Don't give up!!
